In an interview with Inforpress, Evaldina Gonçalves responsible for the municipality's only pharmacy highlighted that the population is a minority and the issue of stockouts or shortages of medicines has not been affecting the municipality in the same way as the other islands.

“In Brava we have a small population, and medicine specialties are few, however, according to the island’s doctors, we place orders and therefore we don’t have much shortage”, he explained.

However, he also considered that, from time to time, some disruptions arise due to transport, since the island only depends on maritime connections, but he guaranteed that if the customer does not find the medicine in the store at the moment, he will find it in the following days, if the boat arrives at the island.

Evaldina Gonçalves also revealed that, as the Brava market is small, they sometimes provide medicines when there is a shortage of medicines in the stock of some pharmacies in the city of Praia.

This person in charge also informed that Farmácia Nova Sintra operates from Monday to Friday during normal business hours, but on Saturday they work until noon.

“Our contact details are posted in the pharmacy window, if there is an emergency, just call, because we are on call at any time”, he explained.
